Tourists traveling north from Fresno, California on their way to Yosemite National Park find their first stop at Coarsegold. Founded in 1849, and nestled in the scenic foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains, Coarsegold still retains the feel of the miners who came here looking for gold.

In creating the cover illustration for the Coarsegold Chamber of Commerce 2019–2020 Visitors Guide and Membership Directory we tried to capture the rustic feeling of that gold-mining history.
COLOR SCHEME
The colors that would best capture the old mining feel were the warm tones of gold and different shades of wood.
